Re-weave
Finalist, Reco young designer competition 2013
This project begin with experiment in PET materials and combine with local weaving technique. A plastic bottle is a waste from human daily life and with it's interesting properties of PET from a bottle that clear and transparent, PET bottle can be cut in to stripe and used as a new material for weaving. From the experiment the stripe is not flexible to weave in shape, then to make PET strip in to round will solve the problem. The technique is to roll while heating until it became a round. From the beginning concept of reused PET bottle, the final design to revitalise an iron structure from old furniture and using PET material to Re-weave on it.
